League & Car Allocations

These rules apply to our F1 Series OOR Championships.

At the conclusion of each Oceania Online Racing Championship (OORC), we will begin our end of season League & Car allocation process.

We do this to promote fairness and equality across the leagues and to also give others a chance to gain promotion if they so desire.

The Leagues are named in tiers. Eg. F1, F2, F3 etc.

At this very moment in time, we have two full leagues. At season’s end we will be adding a third league.

If we have enough for a fourth league, we will add all new drivers to this league and so on and so forth.

Each League will consist of 20 Drivers. This will only change if another team or two is added to the official F1 season (and new game).

League Allocations

F1

  • If you finish inside the Top 14, you will stay in that league the following season.
  • If you finish between 15th – 18th, you will be competing in the League Playoffs A.
  • If you finish 19th & 20th, you will join F2 the following season.

F2

  • If you finish 1st & 2nd in F2, you will be promoted to F1 for the following season.
  • If you finished between 3rd & 6th, you will be competing in the League Playoffs A.
  • If you finish between 15th – 18th, you will be competing in the League Playoffs B.
  • If you finish 19th & 20th, you will join F3 the following season.

F3

  • If you finish 1st & 2nd in F3, you will be promoted to F2 for the following season.
  • If you finished between 3rd & 6th, you will be competing in the League Playoffs B.
  • If you finish between 15th – 18th, you will be competing in the League Playoffs C.
  • If you finish 19th & 20th, you will join F4 the following season.

We placed the League 3 rules on this page to demonstrate how it works when we add further leagues in the future.

League Playoffs

To promote fairness in all leagues and to also allow the opportunity to be promoted and to also be able to fight for your spot in your current league, we will hold the following:

  • 3 x 30 min practice sessions on 3 separate circuits selected by our stewards and admins.
  • No collision, no damage, full corner cutting rules and flags.

Your best times from each session will be added together to get our League Playoff ranking.

League Playoffs will consist of:

  • 4 from F1 (15th through to 18th place)
  • 4 from F2 (3rd through to 6th place)
  • 2 Wildcard# Slots (for additional League 2 drivers or a new driver that passes a time trial)

# In some instances we may have a new driver join OOR that is extremely fast, and to ensure that all leagues are competitive, they will be allowed to participate in the League Playoffs as a Wildcard. We will only allow this in certain set of circumstances when we believe placing this driver automatically in F2 wouldn’t be fair for those in that league. In saying this, this will be rare and we will always focus on promoting those already in leagues.

Car Allocations

F1

The order for choosing your car for the following season will be based on the following.

  • Order in which you finished the season will choose (1-14).
  • The 2 drivers automatically promoted from F2 will choose (15-16).
  • The drivers promoted from the League Playoffs will choose (17-20) based on their playoff ranking.

F2

The order for choosing your car for the following season will be based on the following.

  • The drivers who didn’t make F1 after the League Playoffs, will select in the order they finished the playoffs (eg. 1-8)
  • The 2 drivers joining from F1 will choose next (9-10)
  • The remaining drivers will select based on their final finishing position the previous season (eg. 11-20)
  • If there are new drivers who haven’t race before joining, they will be added to end based on when they joined.

Additional Car Selection Rules

To spice things up each season, the following rules apply in regards to the car you may choose.

F1

If you finished in the Top 7, you must not select a fellow Top 7 driver as your team mate.

If you finished in the Top 7, you cannot select the same car you drove in last season.

If for eg. you are picking 20th and the only car available is the car you drove in last season, you will be allocated that car.

F2

  • Those that competed in the League Playoffs, may not select the same car as a fellow League Playoff participant.
  • Those that competed in the League Playoffs, may not select the same car as they used last season.
  • The drivers who finished 19th & 20th in League 1 the previous season, may not select each other as a team mate.

Number Allocations

Once the car selection number has been set, this will also be the order for those who may wish to change to an available number.

You must nominate/announce if you wish to change, so your current number can be added to the available numbers for that league.

Currently numbers are only available once in the whole competition, but we will eventually out grow that, hence this new system.

Numbers are available once per league. So if you are moving up or down a league, and a driver in that league currently already has that number, you will need to pick a new one.

On the other side of that, if you are moving to a new league and wish to pick a different number that is available, you may do so as well.

If you are not moving leagues, you may keep your current number or opt to change to a new one once it’s your turn to choose your car.
